Environment:
We are all aware of the need to be environmentally friendly and
ecologically sustainable. Building in wood offers a real
alternative to minimise your home’s carbon footprint compared to
steel and other products.
Pinelock uses only plantation timber throughout, a sustainably
managed and renewable resource.
Wood requires significantly less fossil fuel derived energy in
its extraction, production and transportation than alternative
products such as steel.
Using wood in our houses contributes to carbon sequestration and
reduces green house gases. In the production of one kilogram of
wood, nearly one and a half kilograms of carbon dioxide is
absorbed and more than one kilogram of oxygen is released into
the atmosphere.
With forethought and knowledge, it is possible to design your
building to minimise its environmental impact.
